Overview

Dendreon is in need of a Senior Contracts Paralegal with 5-7 years of paralegal/contract administrator experience. This position performs day-to-day paralegal activities in support of the Legal Department. Responsibilities include project management; contract management, negotiation, drafting, and negotiating a variety of agreements; legal research; handling of routine corporate and litigation matters, identify enhancements to department and organization processes. 

 

This role will include interaction with other departments to ensure the responsibilities listed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist legal counsel with drafting and negotiation of complex client and commercial agreements; position will include drafting, reviewing, and managing of vendor, client, non-disclosure and similar agreements; prepare and manage template agreements.
  • Provide support for strategic transactions, including performing due diligence and preparing legal documents.
  • Develop and implement corporate policies and procedures.
  • Conduct legal research, as assigned.
  • Establish and maintain correspondence and document files.
  • Ensure matters needing immediate attention are handled in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain complete confidentiality at all times.
  • Perform various other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate and perform the knowledge, skills and/or abilities listed.
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA) from four-year college or university.
  • 5-7 years of paralegal/contract administrator experience.
  • Must have the ability to practice in a complex and evolving corporate environment and to learn new areas of law quickly.
  • Must have the ability to handle multiple projects under pressure with specific deadlines; be solutions-oriented and highly organized; and be able to perform assigned responsibilities with minimum supervision.
  • Must possess strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently. 
  • Demonstrates highly effective interpersonal skills and the ability to continually demonstrate poise, tact and diplomacy. 
  • Possesses very strong organizational, critical thinking, reasoning and problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret contracts, legal documents and laws and regulations. 
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
