Overview

Dendreon is in need of a Sr. Manager of Total Rewards (Compensation & Benefits), with experience in healthcare or pharma, and 5+ years of experience in compensation and benefits management, human resources management, business unit management, and financial or other data analysis. This position will be responsible for the analysis of compensation and benefits programs in order to evaluate internal equity, external competitiveness, and legal compliance of the organization’s compensation and benefit practices.

 

The ultimate goal of this role is to support and sustain a high performing culture that attracts, motivates, retains and rewards employees. This position will be highly tactical, as it will require someone to completely revamp the current Compensation Plans throughout the organization. The Total Rewards Manager will pursue continuous improvement for all related processes in cooperation with the SVP of Human Resources.

Responsibilities

  • Benefit plan design & management, Compensation plan design & management.
  • Performance management systems design & management.
  • Leads the development, implementation and administration of compensation and benefits programs, Compensation plan design & management.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines and procedures.
  • Recommend new processes and restructure established processes to ensure they are cost effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives.
  • Manages common compensation functions including salary structure evaluation and design, merit pay processes, job classifications, salary budget review, and market compensation analyses.
  • Manages benefits programs including health, 401k, life, disability, medical savings accounts, paid time off, and voluntary plans.
  • Develop and document procedures to streamline processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and work with HR managers to educate managers.
  • Leads or serves on the safety and LOA project teams.
  • Develops and manages compensation and benefits department budgets.
  • Manages comp and benefits vendor/partner relationships.
  • Provides input to develop and implement strategic total rewards plans.
  • Provide data analysis and prepare reports on process performance metrics.
  • Conduct ongoing research into emerging trends, issues and best practices pertaining to benefit plan design and compensation practices.
  • Accurate and timely reporting of bonus results based on published timelines.
  • Effective communication to all levels within the organization regarding all responsible programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or Business, or the equivalent combination of directly related education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in compensation and benefits management, human resources management, business unit management, financial or other data analysis.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop, manage and inspire others with our without formal line authority.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate with a wide variety of audiences.
  • Strong financial acumen.
  • Demonstrated high level of personal integrity.
  • Strong ability to analyze and interpret complex data and arrive at sound business decisions.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Industry experience in Pharma or Healthcare preferred.
  • A highly engaged "roll up your sleeves" achiever .
  • A collaborative and participative management style.
