Dendreon Pharmaceuticals is in an exciting phase of growth and is looking for experienced sourcing and procurement professionals to help lead and revolutionize their immunotherapy supply chain.  The near-term focus is process reengineering, category strategy development and execution, and demonstrating value and adoption of new procurement practices across departments. 


Relationship Management:

  • Develop and manage supplier relationships in partnership with internal departments and other key stakeholders
  • Participate in the development of a category and supplier strategies and initiatives to demonstrate ownership of category and drive savings
  • Increase Procurement influence on third party spend across all business units, in particular major spend areas
  • Provide thought leadership and guidance to business units in the area of strategic sourcing, procurement services and supplier management
  • Manage and measure supplier performance for continuous improvement


Strategic Sourcing and Procurement:

  • Lead strategic sourcing and procurement efforts in support of business unit operations in multiple categories as assigned in order to reduce costs, increase service level, and/or manage risk
  • Conduct research and benchmarking; provide key subject matter expertise on assigned categories
  • Participate in spend analysis to track company spend
  • Develop operational business cases to proactively drive/develop cost savings initiatives and efficiency gains



  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering or business
  • Must have managed and/or negotiated $20M+ in annual spend
  • 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, modeling and business case development
  • 5+ years of experience defining and executing category management strategies
  • Experience developing supplier relationship management program including but not limited to tools and processes, supplier performance metrics, developing performance improvement plans, and top supplier recognition
  • Demonstrated success in driving supply chain improvements
  • Industry experience in biotech or healthcare sourcing
  • Demonstrated success in directly influencing the business as a trusted advisor
  • Experience in project management such leading an implementation of a project, work stream, and/or process
  • Excellent creative thinking skills with emphasis on developing innovative solutions to solve complex problems that may not have one clear answer



  • Ability to travel occasionally
  • Ability to work non-standard work hours when necessary
