  • Overview

    This position contributes to Dendreon’s success by independently analyzing complex data and market industry information from multiple sources to develop strategic sourcing recommendations.  Conducts opportunity assessments, benchmarking, cost modeling and root cause analysis to develop sourcing recommendations to achieve value targets related to cost, quality, and delivery performance. Collaborates effectively internally and with suppliers to gather data and develop analytical insights.

    Responsibilities

    • Support the analytical and communication needs of the organization by developing routine reporting, creation of dashboards and scorecards, and ad-hoc reports and presentations to leadership, directors and other internal customers as necessary
    • Partner with operations, finance and other teams to prepare operational models/analyses to support current and proposed business transactions, supply chain, and performance improvement initiatives
    • Communicate and present the story of the data with internal stakeholders across the business
    • Perform sourcing analysis and selection process, including financial and non-financial inputs to support sound sourcing decisions
    • Support sourcing initiatives, development of contract strategy, and contract negotiation across multiple departments and geographies
    • Participate in assuring cost standards are established for annual operating budgets
    • Collaborate across functions, divisions, and campuses to develop scorecards and lead business reviews for key suppliers
    • Implement metrics, tools and processes to optimize sourcing and supplier activities
    • Develop and participate in continuous improvement programs, addressing cost, quality, delivery performance

    Qualifications

    • 3+ years of analytical, finance, planning, procurement, supply chain, engineering or other relevant experience
    • Demonstrated financial acumen and/or analytical experience
    • Ability to effectively communicate and present information to suppliers, team members, team leaders, and top management
    • Ability to work independently and comfortable working with ambiguity
    • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement processes and supply chain risk factors including experience in assessing and mitigating risk in the supply base
    • Ability to effectively communicate and present information to suppliers, team members, team leaders, and top management
    • Ability to build relationships and influence across multiple functions and levels both internally and externally
    • Knowledge of supplier metrics & measurement methodologies and supporting systems
    • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies & cost reduction methodologies
    • Advanced proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel (macros, pivots, lookups) and PowerPoint
    • Experience with BI software such as Tableau or Qlick preferred
