  • Overview

    Dendreon is seeking a Medical Director to work out of our Seattle office.  This person will provide strategic medical affairs leadership in developing and executing the medical affairs plan, overseeing medical research including clinical trials, and advancing scientific understandings of Dendreon products.

    Responsibilities

    • Works closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute medical affairs plan.
    • Serve as a Medical Affairs authority by keeping abreast of the latest developments in the relevant therapeutic area, maintaining and communicating up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and practices.
    • Serve as medical monitor for company-sponsored clinical trials and overseeing investigator- sponsored trials.
    • Conduct advisory boards to obtain insights for life-cycle management.
    • Interact with Commercial, Regulatory, legal and other groups to review commercial materials and to ensure scientific accuracy for approved products.
    • Manage collaboration with external experts and vendors to address unmet medical needs and support the needs of patients, healthcare providers and payers
    • Have a successful track record in working in cross-functional collaborative environment.

    Qualifications

    • MD., preferred with Board Certification in Oncology, Urology or related therapeutic disciplines.
    • A minimum of 5 year’s clinical practice experience.
    • Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred, especially in Medical Affairs and/or Development.
    • Experience in translational or laboratory research in cancer and/or immunology desirable.
    • Strong scientific analytical skills with excellent communication and presentation skills.
