  • Overview

    The Director, Sales Operations Ensures the development, implementation and measurement of all sales operations functions within the Dendreon Sales & Marketing organization. Responsibilities include; sales and data reporting and analytics, field team incentive compensation, sales force optimization and productivity, vendor and budget management. This position reports to the Chief Commercial Officer.



    • Designs, implements and maintains a motivating Incentive Compensation Plan in support of the company’s compensation philosophy; manages compensation inquiries and adjustments
    • Ensures sales strategy and teams are geographically aligned to grow market penetration and maximizes effectiveness of the Dendreon sales force
    • Creates unique models and methods for business understanding, forecasting, marketing efficiency and effectiveness and managing the Dendreon portfolio.
    • Develops KPIs and dashboards using effective analysis of sales force trends and performance in an effort to identify greater efficiencies and productivity
    • Manages all sales data reporting/analytics, including management of Salesforce.com
    • Works closely with support functions to ensure alignment with sales force goals/objectives, while maximizing effectiveness of the sales force
    • Measures sales force productivity and ensures effective implementation of established strategies and tactics
    • Demonstrates expertise in positioning (targeting, frame of reference, and point of difference) and its application to driving business results.
    • Understands how marketing strategy and tactics drive sales and profit. Links market metrics to core business strategy
    • Ensures adherence to established departmental budgetary parameters, travel & expense, and sales/marketing budgets
    • Creates processes and polices that builds a fair and equitable environment in the Sales Division
    • Delivers sales operations related presentations to the sales organization at national and regional meetings




    Job Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, accounting, computer science or related field
    • Advanced degree or MBA preferred
    • 7 years of sales operations experience required and preferred in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry
    • 5+ years leadership experience and strategy development
    • 5+ years using Salesforce.com or CRM experience
    • Experience conducting statistical analyses
    • Identifies gaps/opportunities in the current business model and develops improved research methods or processes to fill the gap
    • In depth knowledge of Sales Operations technologies, models, and analyses
    • Advance Excel skills required
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Works cross functionally with all departments to ensure operational alignment
