  • Overview

    The Manager, Revenue Accounting is responsible for management of Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO) and distributor pricing relationships and collections of account receivables; related internal controls and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities:



    • Manages all government and commercial contracts and pricing while ensuring compliance

    • Accounts for product revenue and all gross-to-net accruals, including chargeback programs, return reserves, estimates and other adjustments to revenue to accurately close the financial books

    • Accrues all chargeback, rebates, discounts and fee obligations

    • Manages the timely processing of gross to net AR deductions and related credits including accrual calculations and reconciliations to properly reflect in monthly financial statements

    • Prepares daily, weekly, ad-hoc and monthly reporting for gross to net

    • Provides monthly trending of average selling price (ASP) and pricing, chargeback and rebate analysis

    • Participate in monthly closing activities (i.e. preparation of AR aging, journal entries, etc.).

    • Manages AR collection efforts on past due amounts

    • Trains team members as needed to ensure understanding of gross to net

    • Reviews the application of AR cash receipts against applicable invoices

    • Assists with internal and external audits, including providing support, preparing schedules and answering questions.

    • Works with the Market Access Team and manages external consulting vendor relationships

    • Prepares all month end AR reporting package including bad debt reserve, AR days past due by distributor etc.

    • Coordinates cross-functional activities to implement and improve data collection and analysis

    • Engages in proactive analysis of the company’s collection performance to identify areas of improvement

    • Assists with audits/reviews as needed and develop corrective action plans for implementing controls of any issues uncovered

    • Develops collaborative working relationships with corporate and company leadership to encourage sharing of ideas and information, process improvement, and company growth

    • Assists with accounting system implementation and new project initiatives as needed

    • Reviews performance of staff and provide feedback


     

    Qualifications


    • Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field preferred

    • Minimum of 6 to 10 years of accounting experience, in revenue and gross to net within pharmaceutical industry and a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience

    • Extensive knowledge of GAAP and pharmaceutical industry regulations

    • Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems

    • Knowledge of government pricing and Medicaid

    • Demonstrated analytical proficiency

    • Possess the ability to understand and correlate complex business issues into simple cause and effect explanations

    • Excellent formal and informal written and oral communication skills

    • Willingness to be held accountable for producing accurate information

    • Proficient in contract interpretation to ensure all financial commitments are properly captured

    • Attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy and quality to minimize risk of errors

    • Proficient in MS Office Applications – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook

    • Potential travel required, estimated at 15%
