    The Hospital Account Executive is responsible for calling on strategic hospital networks, academic institutions and large community based oncology networks to advance PROVENGE utilization in M+CRPC. Provide account management expertise to advance PROVENGE, an immunotherapy for prostate cancer in key hospital, academic and oncology community practices within a region. This position collaborates with business partners to accurately and compliantly articulate the PROVENGE value proposition to their customers. The role is responsible for guiding the customer through the logistics process and seeing the sale through to its conclusion. This position will report to the Hospital Sales Director.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and deepen existing relationships with identified hospitals, hospital networks and large community based oncology networks to increase PROVEGNE enrollments in targeted geographies.
    • Focus on key decisions makers to include, but not limited to C-suite officers, MD department head / chairs, billing and prior authorization, pharmacy, nurse navigators, treating urologists and medical oncologists.
    • Work with Hospital Sales Director, commercial leadership and Regional Account Executive peers to build a sustainable long-term Dendreon Hospital Strategy.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with regional sales management, field and nursing teams along with Medical colleagues to build and execute account strategy.
    • Bridge the clinical awareness, treatment and enrollment logistics between Urology and Oncology within the institutions.
    • Lead the clinical billing and prior authorization efforts within the hospital & academic institutions.
    • Develops and maintains a robust territory business plan by analyzing the competitive landscape and grows enrollments by leveraging the plan.Complete expense reports and other required administrative reports in compliance with SOPs
    • Effectively communicates appropriate clinical, technical, therapeutic, disease state and product information to customers in order to successfully promote the appropriate on-label use of approved products within the territory.
    • Comply with all OIG/FDA and Corporate Policies and Procedures.
    • Attend training programs, conventions, and symposia.

    Qualifications

    • BA or BS degree required. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
    • Minimum of 7 years' experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech/life-sciences industry is required.
    • Experience working in the buy and bill area of reimbursement is required.
    • Minimum of 3 years' hospital account management and demonstrated success in a sales management, training, or marketing role.
    • Experience in oncology/urology specialty or marketplace is preferred.
    • Experience working with separate class of trade contracts is preferred.
    • Understanding of third party payer, trade and other distribution models is preferred.
    • Experience working with Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO) is preferred.
    • Key Attributes to ensure success include: High Emotional Intelligence, an entrepreneurial spirit and strong strategic thinking skills.
    • Knowledge of and 100% adherence to FDA and PhRMA promotional guidelines.
    • May require up to 80% overnight travel
    • Must reside within territory.
