Your Role: The Sr. Manager of Training is primarily responsible for the successful development, delivery, launch, and management of customized training. The candidate will report to Sr. Director of Marketing and is the primary training liaison to our Commercial Team. The Sr. Manager of Training is a professional who designs and leads the implementation of training programs to enhance the skills and competencies of our Commercial staff. They assess training needs, develops structure of the training program, ensures use of proper curriculum, and deliver training to improve workplace outcomes that align with the company’s core values.

 

Responsibilities

Your Work:

  • Build the structure and platform for the sales training program. Inclusive of but not limited to, initial sales training, home study, corporate sales training, and refresher training programs.
  • Prepare the content provided by marketing for the sales team to become affluent in a highly regulated, clinically focused competitive environment.
  • Organize and support development of an online learning program for at home study and follow-up training classes.
  • Oversee the effective implementation of all training programs to ensure execution and skill development.
  • Apply the concepts of sound instructional design to the development of a curriculum.
  • Expert Level Facilitation and Presentation skills
  • Ability to work across boundaries with internal and external partners, influence and build consensus with various stakeholders in order to get results.
  • Interface with field sales management and all internal support teams to drive key training results.
  • Create and maintain a workable Training Plan to determine the goals, strategies, and tactics to be implemented to achieve client satisfaction.
  • Work with the Directors and Sales Management Team to institute specific metrics and measurements to assess the success of training activities.
  • Manage classroom environment in a manner that allows representatives to meet learning objectives.
  • Work with sales management to formulate a representative development plan.
  • Support sales management team by providing training materials, workshops and/or facilitation support at National, Sales, and POA meetings.
  • Conduct ongoing training Needs Analysis through field training visits.
  • Ride in the field with representatives providing coaching on product and selling skills
  • Lead cross functional team.
  • Utilize best practices in instructional design to create engaging, effective training materials.
  • Facilitate training courses, including but not limited to new hire training, national sales meetings, Virtual events, and other organization events and workshops.
  • Manage a project plan, including completing projects on time and within the provided budget while collaborating with internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct evaluations to assess the effectiveness of training programs, utilizing data to make well-informed decisions about training gaps and next steps.
  • Collaborate with members of the marketing team, sales leadership, compliance, sales operations, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and report results.
  • Manage National Conventions in collaboration with Sales and Marketing, providing oversight on materials and engagement per event.
  • Organize and prepare pre-call convention meetings, aligning all stakeholders on schedule and plan.

Scope:

  • Identify training needs by evaluating strengths and weaknesses.
  • Translate requirements into trainings that will groom employees to become SME’s.
  • Build annual training program and prepare teaching plans.
  • Develop or oversee the production of classroom handouts, instructional materials, aids and manuals.
  • Direct structured learning experiences and monitor their quality results.
  • Acclimate new hires to the business and conduct orientation sessions.
  • Deliver training courses.
  • Assess training effectiveness to ensure incorporation of taught skills and techniques into employees work behavior.
  • Periodically evaluate ongoing programs to ensure that they reflect any changes.
  • Stay abreast of the new trends and tools for training and employee development.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Business Administration or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech/medical training experience
  • 2+ Years in House Training Experience
  • 3+ years of project management experience
  • Oncology / immunology therapeutic disease state experience preferred
  • Experience delivering training to a variety of audiences in a corporate setting
  • Certification in Instructional Design Preferred
  • Established long-term relationship with KOLs in relevant therapeutic areas.
  • Excellent in communication and presentation.
  • Demonstrated high degree of strategic thinking and decision making.
  • Previous experience in managing individual contributors.
  • Ability to travel as needed ~ 40%.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. 
  • Intermittent walking to gain access to work areas.
  • Finger dexterity sufficient to use a computer and to complete paperwork activities.
  • Vision sufficient to use a computer, to read written materials and to complete paperwork activities; Hearing sufficient to communicate with individuals by telephone and in person.
